My Favourite Places to Source My Weaving Supplies

I just had a lovely email from a lady asking me for where I sourced my frame looms etc.

So, here was my reply in the hope that it may be of use to you:

For the frame looms:

I bought all of mine from a lady called Heikes, here: https://heikes-handgewebtes.de/shop/schulwebrahmen-30::1284.html

At the time, I did a deep dive into this and found that she uses the same looms as other companies, but at a much cheaper price. Her website isn’t the best, and you’ll need to translate everything into German when contacting her, but I can honestly say I had a great experience with her.

You can also check out a Belgium company called Funem Studio, though I have just looked and it appears for now that they may now only be on Etsy? And may also be taking a short break? I am not sure here is the link in any case – https://www.etsy.com/shop/funemstudio

I also bought a few things from them – including some shuttles which were great.

I also contacted this guy – called Meta Weaving Looms (https://www.weavingloomsmeta.be/home/index.php) and would have bought his small table looms had I continued. I have seen an example of one of his looms and it was lovely.

I will always have a soft spot for the New Zealand company Ashford Wheels and Looms. Not only was I a stockist for them for a period of time, which I loved, I have also bought table looms, shuttles and tapestry warp thread from them – all of which have been of a high quality. They have a list of their global stockists here.

For me, I used a company called Artfiliumhttps://www.artifilum.com/en/ whho at the time I researched places, offered the products I wanted with the least delivery costs.

For yarns:

If I go back to the UK I have ordered from World of Wool, and also AireDaleYarns (though at time of writing their website did not seem to be working?).

As I live in Portugal however I generally use these EU based suppliers –

Senshokuhttps://www.senshoku.es/pt/ (though their site is only available in Spanish or Portuguese).
