ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
Duration: Four hours (with breaks)
Cost: €50
This four-hour workshop is an invitation to slow down and work with your hands.
Using a simple frame loom, we’ll explore tapestry weaving as both craft and quiet drawing — building image, texture and rhythm through thread.
We’ll begin with an introduction to different types of looms and how they function, before learning how to set up and warp your own frame loom. From there, we’ll move through essential tapestry techniques, exploring how colour, density and texture can shift the feeling of a piece.
During the workshop, we’ll cover:
– Types of loom and how they work
– Setting up and warping your frame loom
– Tools and preparation techniques
– Core beginner tapestry stitches
– Techniques for building texture and variation
– Finishing and removing your weaving
This workshop is suitable for complete beginners, as well as those who would like to reconnect with weaving in a more intentional way.
By the end of the session, you’ll leave with a small woven tapestry sample of your own — and the confidence to continue exploring the medium independently.
All materials are included.
